The free internet course, PWCSafetySchool.com, meets the education needs of PWC users and other boaters. For too long, PWC enthusiasts seeking boating education have felt their branch of the sport gets ignored in the education process. By partnering with the U.S. Power Squadrons and the Northwest PWC Safety Project, we can now offer a free, on-line boating education course that meets the demanding approval criteria of the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.

PWCSafetySchool.com is designed to educate PWC users, and other boaters, about the safe and responsible use of their boats as well as helping fulfill state boating safety education requirements. The site’s content is based on the JET SMART PWC boating course developed by the United States Power Squadrons. More than five years in the making, the online course consists of an education handbook and test with a series of multiple choice and matching questions covering all aspects of safe and responsible boating.

Each state in the PWCSafetySchool.com program has its own folder with state specific information. For the states where an online boating education course is accepted, those folders contain both national and the appropriate state-specific information. For states with regulations that call for classroom sessions or monitored examinations, the state “welcome page” provides the information needed to meet the specific state requirements. Some states may charge a fee for the boating education certificate. Information regarding the payment of such fees will be found on the individual state pages. Certain states will require submission of name, age or address to permit the state to issue an education certificate. No fees are collected on PWCSafetySchool.com.
